The George Reed Experience

Intern in the field

Doing a project engineering internship at George Reed, Inc. has been a really rewarding experience for me. I’ve done civil engineering internships in the past, so I learned about design and on paper how to make construction projects work. It’s been really interesting to see the in-field experience and understand how a construction project works, which will be helpful as I apply that to my future work. All the project managers at George Reed have been super helpful, teaching us everything we need to know. Overall, it’s been a really great experience.

Intern in the field

I’ve been at George Reed for a few months now as an intern. I’ve been helping the Project Engineer and Manager with RFIs, submittals, change orders and printing plans, and overall helping them to the best of my abilities. I’ve really enjoyed my time here, as I’ve learned about the team environment and the industry.

Intern in the field

During my time here, I worked with management at the plants and learned more about what they do here in terms of crushing the asphalt into rock base and other materials for the road. I completed different projects involving solar, mapping out the plants, and changing computer systems. My focus on school is becoming a mechanical engineer, so my internship was tailored to match my career goals. I think my time with this company has been really great and has made me more interested in this field.
